Building shelter and stability.
The Hope Builders remodel and maintain the row of houses in the 300-400 block of West 2nd Street leased by IU Health to New Hope for Families, which provides childcare and programming and emergency shelter to homeless families in the Bloomington area.
From time-to-time we also volunteer our services to other non-profits, churches, and individuals in the Bloomington area.
We have remodeled and renovated 4 houses which are currently used to house staff, provide temporary shelter to homeless families, and provide facilities to our nationally accredited child care and development program. Periodically we also assist other non-profit agencies and individuals in need of short term project help.
In March of 2016 the Hope Builders were honored and humbled to be the recipients of the "Be More Uplifting Award" presented by the City of Bloomington Volunteer Network. The Herald-Times has also recognized our contributions in an article published on February 8, 2016 which can be found here.
Our normal workday is on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00-5:00pm. We welcome individuals of all ages and skillsets. If you would like to join us or find out more about what we do, please contact us and we'll be happy to provide more information.
