The Nest at New Hope is seeking an early childhood educator to assist in its mixed age early learning program. Assistant teacher candidates must be passionate about providing high quality care and education to young children from diverse backgrounds, including those experiencing homelessness and poverty. We are an NAFCC accredited, level 4 Paths to Quality program. As such, we seek an individual who is willing and able to take initiative to promote excellence in the teaching environment, works well on a team and individually, and is comfortable working with infants and toddlers as well as preschool aged children.
All candidates must be willing to have a criminal background check, drug screening, physical, annual CPR/First Aid certification and TB screening, as well as complete necessary trainings.
Time Commitment: This position is 9 hours weekly to be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday between 12:30 pm and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Additional hours as a classroom substitute teacher typically available.
Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who hold or are seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education. The ideal candidate will also have an interest in working with young children who have experienced trauma or other early development risk factors.
